Carlo Revello recently split from a partnership to launch his own brand of wines. His vision is to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary wine production techniques, something I wanted the design to reflect. The main feature of the label is Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, recurring in art throughout the centuries, here rendered in a crisp contemporary fashion. The typeface is custom made, based on early modernist Italian type.
If I could only bring one thing to a desert island I’d have to bring two: A kolinsky brush and an ink bottle. Good old analogue drawing is what I love to do.
Ultrablood is a heavy rock band whose lyrical content is heavily inspired by horror writers such as H.P. Lovecraft. In both the logo and the album cover I’ve attempted to play with the tropes of heavy metal and “cosmic horror”, balancing between the humorous and the dark, with inspiration ranging from 16th century treatises on alchemy and Disney’s Fantasia. The artwork is done in pen and ink, mimicking etching techniques, scanned and digitally coloured.
FREELANCE / ART DIRECTION, LAYOUT, ILLUSTRATION
Artikel 31 hosted UrSinnen, an art exhibition aimed at infants, and spawned the idea to produce a book showcasing the artists that participated but more importantly facilitated continuing exploring both the sensory and philosophical experience of being human was born. To avoid printing costs and simplify the distribution it would have to be an e-book. “Ombord Tanken” (Aboard the Mind) is the result: an e-book intended as a companion for children and parents wishing to tackle the human condition in a playful way.
Instead of receiving a manuscript and designing it I got involved on the planning stage. We decided to attempt making a non-linear, branching e-book. Tentacles and octopi were prevalent in the exhibition and, based on a sketch I came up with, chose to utilize the octopus and its tentacles branching out, each tentacle representing a certain “flavour” of experience.
All illustrations by me.
Vasa -Seglande skeppet
EXPOLOGY / VISUAL DESIGNER, ILLUSTRATOR
Seglande skeppet is an immersive game experience at the Vasa museum. The game is a combination of physical input controls such as an actual wheel to pull anchor and screens resembling windows where the feedback of your actions is shown. A wall graphic with further explanation is also part of the exhibit.
As the Vasa Museum is the most visited museum in Stockholm, and has the most diverse audience by far, it becomes a great challenge to ensure that basically anyone from anywhere can both understand and learn something from the game. I opted for a playful take on generic pictogram graphics and a flat, almost abstract aesthetic for the visuals on screen.

“The Mission” is an experiment in integrating digital technology and gamification into a science centre with a strong analogue emphasis. Adding specific challenges and visual screen-based feedback into the already existing exhibition we aimed at integrating a number of installations into a coherent experience. Briefly, the game is about gathering parts for your exploration vessel. As the exhibition has a very rustic feel with lots of metal and wood I opted for a steampunk feel in the graphics.

Kärnkraften is a company that offers stress management courses, counseling and retreats. The name "Kärnkraften" translates to nuclear power, but the Swedish word for nucleus is the same as for pip, seed and core.
Mineral Mania is computer game that is part of an exhibition on minerals and mining. Ment to convey the sheer number of materials used to produce a mobile phone, the player drives a bulldozer in maze.
